Anthony Chambers was commissioned into the Australian Army in 1995, and has served in a part time capacity as a medical officer continuously since this time. He currently holds the rank of Colonel and is posted to Headquarters 2nd Health Brigade as the Director of Clinical Services.
He has served in a range of clinical and command positions, including as Commanding Officer of the 3rd Health Support Battalion from 2018-2020.
He has had the privilege of serving on active duty on multiple deployments including to Bougainville, Timor Leste, Sumatra, Iraq, Afghanistan and Ukraine.
In his civilian role he is a surgeon specialising in cancer surgery at St Vincent’s Hospital Sydney. He is a senior lecturer at UNSW. He is also the Chief Medical Officer of Nexus Hospitals.
